About Julie:

Julie Larick is an artist who lives and works in New Bern, North Carolina. Her studio is above the Pepsi Museum overlooking the Baptist Church garden. Her paintings are shown and sold in Carolina Creations, conveniently located in the building behind her studio, on Pollock Street in New Bern. In Carteret county her work is shown at Visions Gallery in Morehead City. Her work may be found in private and institutional collections.

Julie received her B.S. in Medical Illustration from the Ohio State University in 1984. Her formative years were spent painting and drawing under the direction of her mother, the painter Barbara Doane Larick. In 1989 she studied at the Georgetown Studio School in Washington, D.C., and in 1991 Julie spent a year at Washington University in St. Louis, MO as a post-graduate studying painting with William Hawk. She has earned a living for many years as a Medical Illustrator while maintaining her studio, showing her art, and freelancing in illustration. She is also available to complete commissioned portraits.
